I just wanted to share something I learned in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy yesterday about separating myself from my emotions.
I was told to imagine my thoughts and emotions going by on a conveyor belt (one with an end). I was to be next to the conveyor belt but not on it. I would watch each emotion/thought go by until it fell off the end of the belt. When I saw my emotions falling off the end it had a profound effect on me. It actually made me laugh because it made my emotions seem so comical (undignified).
I'm someone who takes my emotions way too seriously, I am my emotions, my emotions are like gods dicatating my every action and decision. This visualization helped me put them in perspective.

wow. I like that thought. I agree that I feel like a puppet and my moods and emotions pull the strings. Thanks for sharing this.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
