You FIRST storm? I think the one scheduled for tomorrow will be our 5th major storm, or something like that. Considering we just had one! I want to move back to where I belong, Oregon, where it hardly ever snows!

The Detroit area has had 2 or 3 minor 1" snow falls this year nothing major like they are calling for. Hate the lousy roads and I have a Pdoc appt tomorrow in Ann Arbor I hope I don't get caught in the worst of it coming back.

I know that feeling. In my Geographicals due to alcoholism I have spent a few years in snowy weather and can't stand the bite of the cold. I even spent a summer vacation in N Utah and felt that bite camping at night, in August, on air mattresses. It was bad for me.

Now I use Hotels and camp nowhere. This way I can crank up my rooms heater and love every minute of it.

we just got nailed with 22 plus inches Friday night into Saturday. Roads are shit. City schools are closed again tomorrow. Expect mine to be home again Tuesday and Wednesday. They are calling for another 6 or more inches starting tomorrow afternoon into Wednesday. I love the snow but over 20 inches at one time is a bit much. We started out the year with about 2 inches every day from the lakes

I feel your pain Nobody I from the area and I am not looking forward to the morning! I hate traveling in it, my meds don't help with that.

Clearly you haven't checked the weather the last several weeks for North and South Carolina. Sleet and freezing rain make driving treacherous. We are lucky if we get snow, but it is never just snow. Normally we get 7 to 8 inches of rain the whole year; since December 1, 2009 we have had 15+ inches with more rain on the way tomorrow~~snow, sleet, freezing rain and more rain on top of it~~flooding, flooding, and more flooding with record lows promises black ice during the morning commute.

I don't know what it is to live where you guys do, but trust me winter isn't quite the piece of cake you might imagine unless you are going further south.

I have no clue, it's true. I'm suffering (whine whine) through a heatwave on the other side of the planet- so excuse my indulgent daydreams about snow angels & the like :)

Frankly, I'd rather be in the snow than the heatwaves, Lou- that version of suffering sounds so much worse! (Although if it's REALLY hot and REALLY humid and it's in the middle of the rainforest, I might just be in heaven)
