Hey everyone, I am stuck in a very bad place and although it has slightly shifted I have been in the same similar awkward/sad/now pissed off state for a long time. It all started about a year and a couple months ago with my first "manic" episode. It was my first and only so called manic, which one doctor only thought it was a one time psychotic episode. However I have not been the same since. They put me on a bunch of meds while I was hospitalized and turned into a zombie. Ever since I have been extremely depressed and experiencing crazy bad headaches almost everyday. Always in a fog, having no energy, extremely anxious, afraid, dark and gloomy, helpless etc... I was put on a mood stabilizer and anti anxiety meds and also antidepressants. Over the past year and a bit I have tried probably close to 20 different antidepressants, 3-5 different anti anxiety meds and 4 or 5 different mood stabilizers... I have yet to bounce back and get healthy again.... I am so frustrated that I have recently went off all of my meds to see how I cope with that since i have almost tried everything else..... The past few months have transferred from mainly sadness/depressed to frustrated/depressed/extremely angry. I dont know what triggered this and I was just wondering if anyone else out there has had a similar situation... If anyone has overcame anything like this. I would just like some feedback because I have grew extremely impatient/frustrated etc and dont know what to do..... I have lost all my loving side and barely hanging on by a thread with my girlfriend.... I am extremely pissed off and feel like smashing things all the time.... I dunno, please help!!!

I'm very sorry for your predicament. Perhaps the problem is your doctors. For a long time I depended on doctors that saw me on the fly and I ended up in the hospital. I just assumed they knew better. Doctors aren't paid enough by the insurance companies to take the appropriate time to treat bipolar patients so they treat rather rapidly and bad things happen. As soon as I did my own research into everything (I'm talking, books, journals, etc.) and starting challenging or questioning their prescriptions intelligently, I could tell if my doctors were competent or not. Because I educated myself, I finally found a doctor that understood my condition and had a lot of experience. It's been six months since then and I haven't felt this stable in more then ten years. It truly made a difference. I hope this helps, if it doesn't I wish you the best of luck.

I just finished reading your reply and I would first off like to thank you for giving me a reply so quickly and for also giving me some very useful info. I have been through a good number of psychiatrists and right now I have a very well known/respected psychiatrist (by rating and hearsay he is one of the best in the city) and I get alo ng with him very well.... He seems very caring and he never seems to shoo you out the door prematurely.... All that aside it sux I havent found anything that helps with my severe headaches/anxiety/feeling uncomfortable/severe anger .........I dunno, guess i just have to keep researching/consulting with my doc and try to get to the bottom of this Hoping to stay off my meds to see if I get any better one they are all out of my system but I am also skeptical of the results
