I see your point, but there are no grades or exams here - i have to go back and edit everything i type, because my brain does not work right, and sometimes i just get tired and don't do it, or just leave stuff there. Do you want to be right, or do you want to be happy?? Therapy 102.
I think there certainly are times when correction is in order, but you have to pick your battles, or you will have no friends!! And if you DO become a parent some day, you will drive yourself and your kids insane if you're not careful about this.

Thats cool starfish. It makes it less relaxed in here when people have to worry about being corrected for spelling and stuff. I get annoyed sometimes easily too but that is just and OCD trait. It would get really bad really fast if everyone started correcting everyone else here. Leave that for the teachers.

My point also being - most of the people here probably know how to spell at least fairly well, even if they don't show it in the threads. Part of the reason for the behavior you are talking about is just for the reason of keeping people who feel they need to correct them, away!! They want to talk amongst themselves, and thats how they do it - Oh, well, their loss!! Or, learn their lingo. Maybe they just want someone to take the time to understand them - by taking the time to understand their language. You have to read between the lines, and that is not always clear, either.
Just the way it is.

That's why we have internet support groups. In 'real life', this would have looked ugly. On the other hand, maybe it wouldn't have gone this far.
