Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
Curious- are you on an antipsychotic at all? (all that energy yet fatigue etc)
Oh ok. Definitely be straight with your doc about your thoughts & feelings about this.
BUT
You sound like I did 2 years ago..restless aggitated, mind blazing miles ahead of it's self, tired and want to stay in bed...Mine was DX as a mixed episode...maybe that's what's going on with you?
Very difficult to pin point symptoms,as they are all mixed up.
Very difficult to treat..but doable.
Hang in there, they are probably going to be throwing a lot of meds at you..God I felt like a lab rat...but eventually SOMETHING is going to work.
Just hang on,and when you feel yourself slipping...tie a knot on the end of the rope, and hang on somemore!
Best to you
HUGS!
how you are feeling and see if a med change
is needed. Hugs to you!
These guys are awesome on this forum! I am in the exact same situation as you. I went to see the PDOC today and got the exact same response as dancing is giving you. I have lived this way for 20 years before just now getting diagnosed appropriately.
How about this? Why don't you and I hang on together?
I was feeling a mixed episode coming on about four hours ago, at which point, I took a Xanax and sat down on the floor and did some stretches. This was amazingly relaxing. All the while, my five-year-old son was hugging me and stretching with me at the same time. He is so cute.
I killed two birds with one stone. I was able to relax and stop the onset of the episode and my son was able to enjoy being close to his mom.
Don't get me wrong, it's 10 PM here and I am still amped up and will likely have to take a few more Xanax in order to get to sleep. And I have to be up no later than 5 AM.
I should probably get off here but this has been a huge support for me over the last couple months.
If you ever want to talk, feel free to message me.
many hugs
