I moved to a now town, and got set up with a marginal pdoc last week. That was my first and last visit with her.

I returned to my NP in my home town, and hopefully he will striaighten me out again.

I wish I had options.

I have access to my Pdoc at all times...she is great.

I am very fortunate in that I have an excellent pdoc, pnurse and therapist all within the same clinic. I have access to one or the other of them fairly quickly via phone or visit.

I think people with access are so lucky, it's hard not to be envious - hope you all will understand....

Access at all times. He rocks and the thing is, he's not even the one I was supposed to end up with. My internist recommended one of my shrink's colleagues but that guy wouldn't see me as soon.

My doc was willing to see me at 7 in the evening within a day of my coming home here from Austin. My tdoc said she was worried I wouldn't like him because he's so to the point, blunt and won't bullshit you. That's one of the things I love about him. So I am lucky.

I live in the 4th largest city in the nation with some of the best medical care at my disposal, so that helps. Lucky me.

I happened to find both a pdoc and therapist during a hospital visit. After I got out, I fired my therapist first and then fired my pdoc soon after. My therapist and pdoc are great and because they were my providers when I was in the hospital, they already knew me when I started and there is a lot less time to "tell my story."

I am truly blessed with my pdoc. I see him once a month and I have access to him via his nurse during business hours. My therapist is great. Always returns phone calls. Like I said I feel truly blessed. It's the one thing keeping me alive.

I don't have a pdoc cause I moved countries and am in the process of gaining citizenship. So basically I'm self medicating with what I have left.

So it's not easy.

I don't even go to a general dr anymore just so I can afford to keep my pdoc. Luckily I haven't gotten anything worse then some migraines and the flu. Although the last really severe migraine and panic attack combo wound me up in the ER. Luckily the hospital wrote off nearly $2,000 and all I have had to pay is $100, the doctor though is still holding out for his nearly $400 for 20 minutes of work :rollseyes:

I am very fortunate, right now, to have access to both a pdoc and the medication that I need to be pretty level. If I can find a decent job with good benefits soon, I'll be able to stay this way. If I don't find a job soon, it's only a matter of a few months and I'm in trouble.

I go to a sliding scale clinic and I see my doctor about every 3 months. I would like to see her more but she is constantly booked. It is also really hard to get meds adjusted within the months I don't see her.

I am very blessed to have a wonderful pdoc. I was seeing him once a month, but now since I am doing somewhat better with my meds I now see him every 3 months. But, he has told me if I need to come in sooner to just give him a call. His office is also great about calling in my meds when i need a refill, they are always on top of that for me.

very close with regular care of my pdoc...love her personality and her complete care for me. She really listens to my disorder and my concerns in having the willingness to conquer this disorder..VERY ENCOURAGING :)

I have been seeing the same Pdoc for 8 years.
His office is MILES away,but I wouldn't trade him for the world.
I ususally see him every 4 to 6 weeks ,an hour visit each time.

I consider myself super lucky,as I know many people have no access ,or just have crappy Pdoc's
