At 2 my son was able to t or t, tho he didn't get much cause he got tired quick.
Yea I took a piece or two. lol but still, come on!
I think kids should t or t until they dont want to anymore as long as they dress up~ Why grow up to fast, 15 or 16, or even 17 or 18 im cool with. just as long as they dress up and are respectful and are in it for candy and fun!
I don't think it's the trick or treating. Just part the joys of being parent and getting into those teen years of trying to out growing needing a parent. and trying to be a adult..
As for to young anther joy of being a parent. play it by ear. A screaming child is the sound you will be listening for.. It's all trial and error. and we are all different so if one kid will have problems with it compared to anther is all just guess work, So age is really irreverent..
I don't have any problem with any age as long as they make an effort to dress up. When I had a child under two and we were taking out thier older siblings, we stayed on the sidewalk with baby in a stroller. A lot of houses would send the kids back with an extra piece of candy.
We live in a small town so most houses give the parents candy too.
We leave a bowl of candy on our porch and kids take some. So for the most part I don't see who comes until we get back home.
And kind of OT, I leave packets of hot chocolate out if it's chilly and capri suns if it's warm. I also try to put out some small bags of animal crackers for the younger t or t. Put a few stickers and non candy items too.
I think I was 16 when I stopped, and started hitting up Halloween parties instead.
Now I give out candy and love seeing all the kids in their costumes, and then I usually go to a party. I'll never grow out of Halloween!!
I'm 32 and I'm still a freeking kid!
I don't really understand why only *young* children should be allowed to gorge themselves on ridiculous amounts of candy. I'd much prefer my children (when they are teenagers) to trick-or-treat around the neighborhood than to go to parties.
