Seeing a crap post like this in the "General Support" category instead of the off topic category, filled with negative thinking and political nonsense, makes me glad I quit this group.

It's difficult - I'm a brit with US connections but yes, this is the sort of thing that usually appears in War & Terrorism.

We have a fair amount of off topic stuff here, and I don't think that we would rigidly want to say as a group only bipolar issues should be on the main board.

But I also see unlike the say the regular music threads, these kinds of threads divide the board and create unneccessary friction.

I try not to intervene and I'd hope that we can keep it civil so we don't need DS action on this stuff.

Unfortunately, this topic is very much a part of our lives. And we are people with bipolar discussing it. To me that makes it a bipolar topic.

If you can read the topic, you can decide if you want to participate or skip the thread. Nobody is being forced to read.

Personally, I can't talk about bipolar and meds and woe is me all the time. Life is still happening whether I am bipolar or not.

You see, that is the problem with such posts - we attract people in from outside our community and suddenly the Bipolar board turns into the War & Terrorism group and anyone who wanted to feel safe here just has to put up with it.

I read an online article about it this morning. I think it's a little embarrassing for our country that we voted in Obama and now there are a bunch of overly sensitive people from the losing party pulling this stuff. It doesn't seem much different to me then a little kid that starts to lose a game and runs off yelling "I quit!".

i think its a great idea! i think everytime a president gets in that a state doesn't like theyshould be able to automatically secede from the Union!

or better yet, maybe individual people could secede from the Union when ever the government does something they don't like!

...and i'm sure alot of soldiers in our military wish they knew this as well - that way they could have avoided being killed or maimed in Iraq.

My husband is a huge conspiracy theorist and has been saying for awhile that we're going to have another civil war (note: we're Texans) because of how divided this country has become politically and ethically. I always blew the idea off, but during this election and especially after Obama was re-elected, I'm starting to wonder (note: I lean more liberal and he leans more right wing).

What concerns me is that the only side that's really riled up and ready to take action is the side that I see as the most deficient in ethics. Most liberals I know (more than you'd think in Texas), aren't that way currently, and I'm not sure they ever would be given it kind of goes against their ethics to threaten to harm people who do not agree with them.

I've never been very politically inclined given that I was raised as a Jehovah's Witness and we stayed out of politics, but since the election before this when Obama first won, I've been becoming more and more aware of how things currently work and I must say, I'm ashamed to be a Texan first, and an American second. I now know why other contries dislike us because I dislike us for the same reasons. And that does not make me unpatriotic, but more an agent of change.

That's the one things I agree with the GOP, is that we need major change in our government. I just disagree with what changes need to be made and the direction we should take this once great nation.
