I had no idea what old comic books were like!

Actually I don't even read modern american comics so I can't even compare yesterday vs today in the DC comic world.

old bat man comics may have been lame but nothing is more lame than and industry that ignores the market they are missing with the other half of the population! Real business geniuses this Marvel and DC are. Even in these modern times do they not realize that women exist? And if they marketed for them they would make more money? It's a total no brainer!

But oh well.

I just like parodies and culture references. I think that might be the nerdy part of me.

Electra comics and a lot of Manga comics are very Girl power type comics. But then again a lot of Manga comics and cartoons are very pervy. I dont read those or watch those online honest, I have never laughed my bollocks in to a frenzy over a manga cartoon where a woman gets thingied by a monster with multiple protruberences. No not me, I would never watch that kind of thing.

I love manga, and anime! And since there will soon be an opening in the market because of what has happened in Japan, I'm just surprised that american comic companies aren't jumping at the chance to make more money! How can you be so blind, stupid and dumb?

It's time to wake up and smell the mula! Get with the program! There is obviously a market for female comic fans. Yet DC and marvel and all the other small names haven't figured it out yet? They might as well still be living in the 1940's. They are still just as dumb.

And I don't know about now since comic book stores have gone out of the japanese comic business (thanks to book stores stealing the product off the shelves) But back in my day girl friendly comics where lame! What did we have? Some retarded kid comics! And Archie! Every girls dream a man juggling three women! Not even sure why? There was nothing even special about him! And it's clear the artist didn't have a clue on what an attractive looking man is there was no reason for me to be interested in it.

So I've never heard of electra I may investigate it, but no one knows what a girl wants in a comic book than the japanese!

I do read shounen too. And some are hard to tell what gender it was written for.

Also I think the attraction to manga was the fact that the japanese had some really creative stories that I've never seen in american story telling. All though once you've read enough manga like I have you do see repeats and get bored with what you've already read a million times.

But soon there will be a void in the girl oriented comics. Less and less manga is being printed and published in america. For many reasons, one being scans that make it free on the internet, two being the disaster that struck japan, and most important of all, manga artists can not live on the wages that they get for their work. And because manga is no longer a popular form of entertainment in japan it's self it's a dieing art form.

If you look at book shelves not that you might know but you will see lots of reprints because there is still a demand and not enough supply. And for an old timer like me I've already read them, and still own the original print. So they wont continue to make money off of me as an old time fan.

Some one needs to pick up the ball before it drops. But I wont be surprised if no one is paying enough attention to realize what a great business opportunity they are missing. And I can't understand it from a business perspective! Are they that stuck on their old fashion and out dated sexist ways of doing business that they can't see what mentally ill disabled woman can?

It's not exactly rocket science!

Any how that above ^^^ is the very reason I didn't mention the manga torch I carry. I have a chip on my shoulder about it.
