Ok, this might be a trigger or along those lines. So don't read any further if you're bothered by sad dog stories.

You know all of the dogs they used in Vietnam? Of course the soldiers got attached to them. Well, when the war was over the Army in its infinite stupidity got rid of all the dogs. Horrid. How could they do such a thing. I was talking to a Vietnam Vet and he told me to this day he still grieves for his dog.
