First let me tell you the situation and then I'd really like some opinions about if I'm being unreasonable, sometimes I can't tell and I'd like to make sure.
School started for my children recently. I am dealing with a neurological issue (don't know what it is yet) and I use a cane to walk the kids down. There are quite a few fathers that put their children on the bus in our little complex. One of them very politely asked me a few days ago what was wrong with my leg and if I would find a wheelchair and/or a walker useful. He thought his family had one in storage from a relative who had passed away (turns out he was wrong but that isn't relevant). Since then when we are down at the bus stop we have polite neighborly conversation about our kids and how my medical situation is going. We walk back up the driveway, finish up our conversation, say have a nice day, and part ways.
Now the problem here is that I have a boyfriend who thinks that this somehow means that I'm making friends with this man. I've told him about every conversation I've had. I haven't tried to hide anything from my boyfriend about any of this. None of my conversations are inappropriate. I don't even know the mans name. My boyfriend claims that "this is how it all starts". He said he won't believe me if I tell him that I'm not talking to this man anymore. He said if I'm allowed to make "guy friends" then he's allowed to make "girl friends". He has been completely rude and obnoxious about it for days and then freaked out last night about it. I told him that I've been completely honest with him and that I've never given him a reason not to trust me. When I said I've been with him for almost 3 years and never cheated on him have I? He said I don't know you have enough free time, have you?
So...am I doing something wrong and not seeing it? Is he just being a jerk? I'm (obviously) bipolar and am hitting that time of year when my mood destabilizes, am I having issues? I have believed since we got together that he is also bipolar. He went to see a psychiatrist recently and was prescribe antidepressants without a mood stabilizer. Do you think maybe they were wrong about it being depression and he's manic and having issues himself? I really could use some opinions other than my own. I have no idea how to handle this situation and I have to go down to the bus in about 5 minutes now. Help and advice please!

To me, that reeks of insecurity and control issues that have a hard time finding resolutions.
I had a bf once who did the exact same thing when it came to other men. He was insecure, I gave him no reason to be. But he ended up taking it out on me physically and emotionally. I'd take his behavior as a huge warning sign.
