Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I'm having a depression episode and I don't want to talk much. I'll be back at some point soon. Thank you for the responses.
The problem is being ignored when you speak honest words that mean a lot to you makes them seem worthless. "A man is his thoughts, is his words, is his actions, is his patterns." And I hold it inside, then at some point I hint, people prod, and it spills out. And I'm seen as a bitch, or an unstable nut, someone who can't be taken seriously. Easy to write off, more or less. It happens everywhere. I want people to understand this even if it doesn't benefit me.
The thought patterns that ultimately lead to thoughts of hopelessness are hard to explain but easy to understand when you know them well. I'm really not articulate and I'm sorry. It takes me many words to get across a single concept.
Perhaps if you simplified your thoughts ....and I do not mean that you should dumb them down ....just trim a bit of the text a bit ?

They list social anxiety a lot as a symptom of BP, but I wonder if a lot of that isn't shaped by society's response to us...sort of like you describe.
Anyway. If you're BP, you belong here if you want to belong.
And I agree with DD. You're a good writer.
Have you tried writing your best and worst thoughts down just to have them for yourself?
Both the written word and the spoken have great power if you save them to share only with people who will resonate, and writing things down might give you a sense of release...
Good luck.
Xx,

I also want to say this topic is actually related to BP. Many of us feel exactly as you do......a misfit in a group of misfits. Many of my posts fade quickly to the bottom with a few kind responses. I often remind myself well maybe people couldn't relate or maybe they have no experience with this med or something. I often feel like I'm just not connected to people here actually even off line I have just 2 main persons my mom and best friend. all others are casual people and members of my treatment team. My friends here for DS are ones who have sent me requests because I can't I just know I will be rejected or laughed at . You do belong and this is bipolar related and I'm glad to meet you.
