Anyone use these before? I've been to an in person one almost 10 years ago now and the room was full and I remember being very nervous to say anything so didn't share much. I did get a lot out of listening tho. I'm nervous about going into this again but I signed up for a group chat tonight. Anyone have any experiences with these?

I used to belong to a Bipolar Assoc and I got a lot out of it... I went to weekly meetings at that time and became a volunteer...

I think you'll get out of it what you put into it.... So it may take a while to feel comfortable and get to know people but for me it was a great experience... I hope that it goes well..... Big hug....xo

I doubt I'd trust going to a random in person Meetup, because you don't know if people are actually BiPolar or just weirdo's who get off messing with mentally ill folks...so yeah I would not trust that.

An online BiPolar Chat would be a safer choice, you can join the talk if you want, you can gauge whats being said and see if you want to participate, it's anonymous so nobody actually knows you, and if you're uncomfortable you can just listen (read) or leave. No harm done.

I have gone to NAMI affiliated stuff before, so I knew it was a good space. I also was part of an art therapy group for two years, which was so very helpful.

In Covid times ive done more virtual museum type events, but haven’t done any online suooort groups - just the DS community here!

    When i was in the ER February 16th 2025, i was being admitted to ICU where i was for 3 weeks, then had to relearn to walk for 3 weeks in another hospital rehab floor, the nurse told me something that made me feel for over 18 months now that i was finally *safe*. She told me that the guy who raped and beat me 21 years ago now  almost 20 years at that time, was in prison as of a month before that...
