Hi all,
I'm just wondering if everyone here is on a large combo of meds to try to get stable.. I take tegretol, nortriptyline, wellbutrin, clonazepam for anxiety and zyprexa as my newest stabilizer and to help me sleep. All these plus pain meds and asthma meds and new stuff to overcome an allergic reaction to the nicotine patch. It looks like a pharmacy on my bedroom dresser, lol.
Is this a regular thing among us bipolar patients?

I take Triliptal 300mg 2x a day, Abilify 30mg a day and clonazepam 1mg 3x a day, I also take some heavy duty meds for a medical condition I'm fightings

Use to be on probably 5-6 meds. None currently.

I would really like to cut down on the number of drugs I'm ingesting but it seems every time we try to get rid of some of them I go into a depression or some rapid cycling. I hate to think what this amount of medication is doing to me in the long run. Right now and for the last month I've been having headaches. I wonder if they're a biproduct of all the meds I"m pumping into myself. Oh well, with nothing on board I get truly f***ed so I suppose I have to grin and bear it.

I take 18 prescription meds all together, 5 psyc meds. I take Prozac, Lamictal, Trazodone, Prozasin and Atavan.

Just two, depakote and wellbutrin. This is after trying some other combos with three being the most (trileptal, abilify, wellbutrin). I think I'm the closest to stable that I've been in many years, but I'll see if that lasts once winter sets in again.

Welcome aboard!

Used to take shitloads - I was a pharmacy! That history, makes me content with four that do work well - now.

Crossing my fingers they hold out a few years!

Seems to be...... I take Lithium, Saphris, Klonopin, and N Acetyl Cystein for the Bipolar. Then I also take meds for Asthmas, Allergies, and Hypothyroidism. total of 11 meds.
