Is there somewhere we can start up a chat room?

Yes...FB...maybe that's the only answer...sigh...we only hear from those who have bad things to say about it...Mebo...that is...always the way...complainers speak and those who are fine have nothing to say but go on with their business.

No sense in creating a campaign here on DS for an alternate I s'pose.

never use it personally. for people in crisis mode that need it, i think it sucks they're removing it, but for me, i don't mind at all.

I know many like chat and I feel bad it's going to be gone. I couldn't type fast enough and got frustrated answering multiple friends at once. The brain was there- fingers not so much!

Geez- Ya think DS would have some of the over abundant and creepy advertisers help the meebo crisis!

FB not a good option for me- keeping my BP and life in general seperate from that forum! It took me a long time to just open up here.

Messaging is slow but at least somewhat real time???? Yeah- it's painfully slow.

Maybe something else will be figured out unless this is the DS process of slowly getting rid of everything??? Hope not.

I used to have such great respect for Oprah...watched her come on the scene...admit I lost interest over the dacades.

She could redeem herself in a lot of people's eyes if she would open her own...perhaps she is unaware?

I think g, (irishwriter) said all that needs to be said to Lady 'O. Anyone got a direct line on her...or her husband? Or have they divorced/separated?

Is this the first notice of losing chat? I realize it's tied in with Google regarding Meebo but really, not too over dramatize the issue or overstate the obvious...pick your own perspective...but this place is losing a limb and it could still be terminal for the site.

Am I biased in my thinking? Yes. If I'm at a site all other sites are out of mind. I don't have the multi tasking skills to do this. Even chat...it's one at a time or not at all but at least I tell my friends that.

You'd think if they had more knowledge about this upcoming even they could have let us know sooner. I can feel the anxiety/panic setting in many of those here who see this function of the site as just the kind of support they're looking for when they need it most.

I used to see DS as standing for Daily Support more than as Daily Strength. For some it takes a lot of strength just to come here for support.

I respectfully disagree with your perspective. You're welcome to it. "Very good" is just as subjective as "anger". Personally I am not angry. I am saddened by the whole thing.

I have too much fear and anxiety to use a chatroom line here on ds.

I felt the same way...perhaps not to the same level...but I've found it a very good way to learn to be more open and expressive with others on a one to one basis.

That's just me of course...and those I do chat with from time to time. Some aren't learning but rather teaching me and the time spent is always well worth it.

I like the chat here and there.. I made some awesome friends thru the chat feature and then went to phone. that quick action of talking back and forth makes it easier to get to know if you even want to talk to someone in real time. which in the early days made me much more apt to make phone buddies here despite my paranoia.

I dont use it much anymore, but I am not here that much either.

I do believe it is a bit unreasonable for DS not to get together another chat option.. this sight is really the red-headed step child of Harpos empire.. and its sad that it is getting chipped away at instead of built upon. but they will always find room for another advertisement... and the resources to kick off another permabanned member.

Time to plan the work and then work the plan...any ideas?
