maybe I sound mean in this post because I talk about breaking up with someone so plainly..... but it's just been an anxiety filled two weeks of dating and he talks about marrying me and having two kids and moving to California too often and I was only just getting to know him. I'm not careless or anything.....

anyway, it was about New Years..... I texted my friend Jess who lives like an hour away what she was up to... I told her I was free with no plans.. she said she was going to her friends party... no invite. Ouch. Thats the only friend I got who lives in this small little state.

Ask yourself this, Grenadine, would you feel like a bigger loser if you waited till after the party to tell him you didn't want to be there with him? Would you have still taken that kiss?

Like the coaches always say..."better luck next year". If the coach is good he/she's usually right too. I'm kinda certain you won't have to be alone at DS. Does that make any here when the calendar rolls over losers?

I'm sorry things didn't work out with your "Hooter" guy but it sounds to me like you have your reasons and you were able to make a decision. Action makes you a winner even if it sometimes feels like a loss.

i haven't gone out in ages, mainly because i strongly dislike being around and having to interact with drunk people.

i will probably join you on new years eve here on ds so dont think that youll be alone, i just dont feel like celebrating anything here lately and i do think its a bipolar thing.

thanks guys :) i guess every year i wish i had friends... but im kinda anti social anyway.... so the friends i do have, i dont talk to or see much.... but if it werent for the bp, i wouldnt be this way. now i am shamed and traumatized and just feel like an outcast.

Wife and 2 kids after two weeks?! Sounds like he's more anxious than you. Smart decision, do act on it. I guarantee that you'll come out the winner on this one.

I guess I'm in the same boat with most folks here. But actually don't really think its a bp thing, new year's parties seem to be a reason to drink, which I prefer not to by personal choice, don't like to be around drunks. Not much really goes on New Year's, oh yea, u see people hugging and kissing at the strike of midnight. Wonder how long these people really stay together. Anyhow, watch tv, sometimes just go to sleep. Anyhow, I guess I just don't care about New Year's eve, just another day on the calender.

I kinda feel I'm somewhat social but I have very few friends as well but by my own choosing. I don't think it's a BP thing. I just realized most friends aren't worth my time if they don't have time for me when I need them.

I used to get used a lot. Got nothing left but a place to cook and sleep and one good, long time, friend who I can honestly say I love and would walk two miles in the rain to bring her a loaf of bread.

I guess if you're uncomfortable with what he was thinking/saying then you should break up with him. There's nothing wrong in being alone for New Year's Eve. I usually spend it with my husband and we stay at home for much the same reasons as most here but mostly is we both do not make friends easily. This year we're actually away for the weekend. Before I met him I spent many new years alone. Take the time to reflect on the past year and what you're going to do differently next year. Bring in 2013 with kick ass resolutions and be ready for good things.

It would freak me out if someone started planning the rest of my life after dating for 2 weeks to.. I know some find the 'love at first sight' thing but I think that comes down to lust that works out..
I think a lot of us will be on our own gren and I know a lot of us here aren't social butterflies.. I personally am not comfortable at parties or social situations with a lot of people...
We will be here... at least a lot of us will...x

(I hope you tell him why. If this is how he acts in every relationship he gets in, he needs to know that it doesn't work that way!!)

I used to be the "band" and play for all those big New Year's parties. Now I am like DD - the night means nothing. I don't remember the last time I didn't sleep through it.

But you are young, and you can go out dancing. If he is not the right one, better to let him know right now. You don't need a date to have fun. Just be yourself.

And hey, I don't think there is a thing wrong with sleeping through the night. And Eulen is right - you can always spend it on-line with us major party people! LOL

If New Years was in July my ass would be out celebrating it but since its in the dead of winter and I wont die if I dont celebrate it it doesnt happen. Its not a BP thing with me its the fact that I cant do the cold any more and abhor winter I dont do anything unless its about the dogs and then it still takes a bit for me to do it
