It's very different so it definitely takes some time to get used to... DS has been working hard at dealing with glitches ... I'm liking it much better now then I did initially... There are still a few things that I would like to see a little different

I am finding I get lost - a site map needed for the navigationally challenged?

I liked the old site better,but as long as I have my DS, I don't mind :)

I think it's ripe to fold. Jmho.

I treat new software like a new pair of shoes, car or furniture arrangement. I give it a break-in period before I make my final judgement.

I am still breaking it in. So far it is just different. . . ?Where did the programmers put my hugbook this time?

It takes some getting used to but it's workable.

There are alot of serious design issues which stem from the mistaken belief that the way to turn around DS's decline is to make it more like social media. So a number of decisions have been made that would be appropriate for a social media site, but not a support site.

Just one example, we have "trending" and "most popular" and "Recommended groups". While that is appropriate on a social media site where trending might be the new car from Jaguar it isn't appropriate on a support site. I wouldn't join Post Partum Depression juist because it is a popular, trending or recommended group. I did manage to get DS to switch off Euthanasia as a recommended group for me. However things like Pyromania and Post Partum depression remain.

This is just one example of where applying the wrong model for DS is making it less a support site.

Where oh where is the bipolar crisis centre? Why is the link to it not on this board. I'm really sorry but were the developers just out of kindergarten and this was their first job??? DS management what where you this king? You've taken away a format which was unique and made DS stand out from the crowd, to one that unless I was not already a member I wouldn't be queueing up to join. I'm sorry I'm just getting more disheartened each day I've been here 9 years. I'm not sure atm that I will still be here in 9 days. Why didn't you seek the opinions of some of your older members too. I feel I was ignored on the beta site.and I figure if I had been having log in problems till now, I would have given up the ghost too

I think they are making some changes and updates Rubes... I just saw that hugs and pm's are going back to the way we had them ... I think it's going to take some time to work it all out... It's be a big change and a lot of work.. I know it's hard to be patient...It's been overwhelming for people but I do think DS is trying to work with the members... Huge hugs...xo

I wish I could believe that Jan but it begs the question. They can make all the changes in the world but if no-one likes the site and there is a mass exoodus, there aint gonna be anyone here to appreciate any changes

I'm slowly getting used to the new site BUT I'm pretty annoyed by the absence of a crisis center (thank you, ruby, for bringing that up!) and I hate that i can't change my status text next to my avatar on my home page. Does anyone know how to do that? Anywho - change sucks.
