They normally suggest up to 6 weeks to note an affect, but if you aren't noticing anything at all maybe see your pdoc and ask if you need to be taking them?

I gained a lot on depakote, I also lost quite a bit of hair. It was a good med for me though if you can cope with the side effects

I have felt depression my whole life, and I do take antidepressants. I just saw my pdoc today and we upped the dosage and changed it to taking it in the am and in the pm. Is one of your medications an a/d?? I think you should talk to your pdoc and tell him/her what you are feeling so they can help. I wish you luck abielle!! Keep us posted. ;-)

i think they are all mood stabilizers. i was on an a/d, which my regular pdoc put me on...then i got to the hospital, and that doc took me off. i don't get all of this change. one puts me on stuff, the next takes me off. he said it would cause mania...but i wasn't experiencing that. he just wouldn't listen to me. ugh.

i go to my regular pdoc on friday, hoping for the best. (of course i am always hoping for a magic pill, but i'll take what i can get.)

Well, I don't believe there is a "magic pill", but with the right combination of meds you get real close. I hope that everything goes smooth with your new pdoc and be sure to tell him/her what you are feeling and how you are reacting to the meds. I write on a piece of paper what I want to bring up, any concerns about my meds, suggestions I come up with, and refills I need. You'll be just fine. thanks, it is actually my old p doc. i have had 4 diff docs prescribing for me since feb, due to the hospitalization. not sure if it was ego or what, but each one had to totally switch me up...o well.

Neurontin can def cause memory problems. It made my brain cells sluggish too!!

I don't have health insurance but have been able to get Efferox 75 mg and I am suppose to take 150 mg. I am not on any mood stabilizer. I can go on Prozac for only $4 a month.
When I had insurance I was on Lamitical 100 mg and Efferox 150. I was on Prozac several years ago.
Has anyone been on it for bipolar? If I bought my regular medication it would be $400 a month. I can't afford that.

Ann - you can get the generic Lamictal at the pharmacy from Costco for about $40 a month without insurance.

Oh, sometimes it really takes persistence & a good pdoc tinkering with the meds like for ages.

Had a pretty immediate response to abilify personally but for pronounced mixed state so was noticeable.

Um...Highly recommend, if this continues & your pdoc runs out of magic tricks..getting a med review from another pdoc (who specializes in med side of things, preferably)
Made a huge difference for me at different points along the road..like, detecting basic things such as - thyroid out of whack that can really change things up when addressed. Lots of examples of this kind of thing when 'fresh eyes' take a gander at you, your med regime.

Good luck. Another thing- 3 months is nanoseconds in getting the optimum med combo for you scheme of things, in my experience anyway. So many potential side effects to navigate like being overly sedated Vs Keeping Mood lability in check. Sigh, indeed x

I'm on an abilify seroquel combo and I noticed i was still depressed. the ADs by the way did flip me manic, i take omega3 for the dow. uns and my pdoc told me to up the dossage. I posted last night that I was feeling quite low and got afew suggetions that u could check with your pdocnfortunatly I don't know how to post links to posts, but I'll bump my post for u to see it. but it could also be u need a med tweek, BTW, these things take TIME, lol!!!
