I just started taking Geodon yesterday, and I had a really rough night. I layed down to go to sleep at 10pm, but tossed and turned until 3am. I also had visions of things coming at me, this never happens, I was so scared. I also had words and phrases repeating in my head over and over. Woke up with songs I haven't heard in years repeating in my head.
Has anyone experienced this type of side effect, and will it go away? It didn't start until at least 2 hours after I took my meds, and I feel there is a direct correlation. I am nearly in tears these days due to horrible depression. My lack of sleep has increased this feeling twofold. I am working in a haze, not able to understand much that is said to me. I can't think in a straight line. I am praying that this side effect (if that's what it is) goes away quickly.

Geodon was one of the first few drugs I was put on after being dx. The first 2-days went well; the fog from the depression started to lift and my sleep somewhat improved. After the 3rd day, I started getting really bad tremors and felt like my head was swimming. Like you, I also heard repetitive phrases and words. I contacted my pdoc ASAP, and she immediately took me off of Geodon put me on Abilify.
Based on the severity of depression you are feeling and the bad side effects from Geodon, I would recommend you contact your pdoc immediately to see if they could put you on something else
