Do you think it's ok for someone with bipolar to work as a psych nurse? I just got a job at a psychiatric inpatient unit. I feel I can do alot of good there.

I think that's one of the best jobs you could possibly get!! And congratulations!! Not only will you be able to empathize with the patients better than most, you'll probably learn a lot about yourself in the process. I'm thinking of going into psychology myself. I'm a teacher now, but I figure I obsess so much over mental health issues, I might as well make some money doing it :). Best of luck to you.

Iris, THAT IS WONDERFUL.....congratulations.....I am so very happy for you. I am an ER nurse and since my DX I feel I contribute in such a different way when a psych pt comes into the ed. Yes, you will be a great contribution. You just need to remember your boundaries so that you keep yourself healthy, because you are at higher risk for become ill than your coworkers. My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper?
