Well, it's an atypical and it seems as though it has been approved for mania...(acute only, but should only be a matter of time before we get put on it for maintenance therapy..)

The name reminds me of Sappho which makes me horny so I'd like some.

Hi, I just started this med yesterday. Seems to be working after three other drugs failed. Are you using it now? If so how is it working for you?

I tried it - horrible, horrible, horrible! Terrible side effects almost immediately (like within 10 minutes), lasted all night. No help with symptoms. Was a complete waste for me and I quit after only 1 dose it was so bad. Others with a less sensitive system might have better luck. But a word of caution to those who tend to experience side effects - this one is a rough one!

Atypicals are cool.

I was on saphris for about a month. It sent me into a depression that wouldn't quit. It's supposed to be the latest and greatest, but according to the nurse at my pdoc's office several patients had problems with it. If it works for you, great. It didn't work at all for me.

yes i have and even though its new it has very nasty side effects including death... and somehow it was still approved...

it was suggested to someone i know on another bipolar forum i go to.

but it also happened in the zyprexa trials too so why am i surprised...

with zyprexa it was 1 in 145 patients that died during the trial. seriously dont think thats an acceptable *side effect*.

I was on it for 1 day. Horrible. It is a melt in your mouth med. It burned my mouth and left it numb for hours. It made my eyes heavy for hours but no sleep. When I did fall asleep I slept for over 13 hours. That doesn't include the bad taste.

I haven't had any problems yet. Like I said I just started yesterday, seemed to work fine for my. No side effects like the other meds I've been tryining. Just a little groggy. Today though I'm still having anxiety... I'd like to find a local support group or a book on cognitive control.
