I woke up in the middle of an anxiety attack this morning. I go to see my new case manager this afternoon. I'm always scared to talk to someone new. I see her to understand my illnesses better and my help me recover from alcohol dependence. Just changing to a new case manager makes me crave really bad. Anytime I am forced to change, or when I get too upset, my coping skill has always been binge drinking. I'm afraid I'm about too go and do this now. If I just go to the store and see it, I'll get it, lots of it. How do I keep myself from doing this?

Hey All...I hope that you have a lovely, peaceful beginning of your weekI have a bunch of chores that need doing but may put them off til tomorrow and just hang out with my landlord/roomie todayWhat about you?...Anything special going on?Have a great day and take good care of you!!..Xo

Meeting a new therapist is stressful however today will be a meeting day and once you go I'm think (probably) you'll be very glad you went and it won't end up the scary experience that you imagined...
Do you have a prn to take?... Could you maybe take a nice long bath?.. Big hug of peace for you...xo
so can you tell your bad thoughts to stop that you know they are just trying to hurt you. can you tell those terrible fears that you know these people are here and want to help you get well unlike they who are trying to keep you sick. My therapist and case manager are helping me work on my agoraphobia and while i was out with one of them it hit me and i told her i know you two will keep me safe not just because you like me but hell its your job wouldn't be a good performance review if you let a client get hurt. she cracked up. (its true though) and honestly whats the fear that she will be horrible ...........ok so then you go to the boss and get a new one......ive done that once too. don't hurt yourself ok?
i know im being chatty but give me a min here.....take your fears take your doubts look at them like people instead of being in your head.............either get paper and a pen and bitch them out in writing then save or destroy it orrrrr go someplace private and scream at them tell them how you know they are bad they are not someone you care to listen to.............whatever get mad at the bad feelings and thoughts not at the you who is fighting to stay well.
great job reaching out my friend your going to make it . now or down the road you are going to make it.
You can do it!
they said i I was bipolar disorder. I made up my mind I was going to quit drinking.. I made through. just think postive... say to self that you not going to do this anymore. go talk to someone about this..
Everybody here has such good advice - just Stay Away from the stores; seriously - there is No Way that ANY of us, if we were binge drinkers, could last Five Seconds in a store where alcohol was everywhere in sight. Nope, you gotta Stay Out.
And Call people whenever you feel that way. And come Here. o you have buddies? CALL them. There's strength in numbers.

Alcohol as you say has been your coping mechanism, what others have you and your past medical advisers discussed?
Reaching out on social networking and to friends are some people have suggested here. Another I can think of is to keep a journal that lists exactly what you were doing and thinking at the time you got the urge to drink. Once you identify thought patterns and actual triggers, you can get at deeper issues that lead to your crisis's with later therapy and practical solutions.
