Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I too feel that all my dreams were shut down and I now have to remake myself. It's easier said than done.
Play your favorite music, take a walk to clear your mind. Just do whatever it takes to get your mind off of the negativity.
Here is what I am trying---1. be thankful. Find things to be thankful for every day. Be grateful for things both large and small.
2. Give unconditional acceptance, even to the negative events and people. Some things, especially other people, we can't control or change, so why get twisted up trying. My unconditional acceptance statement is: "the present moment is perfect" and also, "a million different decisions led up to this place in time".
Do you have a therapist that you can call? or your pdoc?
I hope you feel better soon. xx
I suggest brainstorming. Just excercise your brain a bit. Take five minutes (if the depression allows you to move far enough to grab a pen and paper, 'cause writing things down is important.) Give yourself a minute or two - time it on your phone or something - and see how many things you can scribble down for as many categories as you can think of - one at a time though - like I AM GRATEFUL FOR or THINGS I *WILL* DO by the end of the day, month, year, within the next five.
Don't dare beat yourself up for dreaming. Reality wouldn't exist if people didn't dream of better things for themselves and others. Don't feel bad for being sad, it's natural, unfortunately :)
You think these wrinkles and grey hairs grew Themselves?? And blubber fat don't come cheap, girlie. Dark circles under the eyes take Many nights to cultivate...
Oh, wait!! We're talking about Negativity here. *hangs head*
You guys are All great - you really are. We just have to Find things to laugh about, that we can All laugh about Together.
BTW - unsolicited advice, anyone? When I had anxiety attacks in the past, they could get pretty ugly (no pun intended)...But,
I found laughter was a Great sedative: whether a funny tv show, or internet site, or just a friend who could say something off-beat at the right time. It really helped.
And, of course, maybe you're like Me, and you have the kind of imagination that can Create something funny out of nothing.
*hugs* back up to you, offbalance. Today you may think it's all bad, but that's just for the moment. I know Exactly how you feel right now, lonely, jobless, useless, friendless, ...stuff.
Isn't it great to find somebody else in this little box in front of you, to talk to? Who understands.
*cyber-hugs*., dearie. :)
:)
When I get lost in my spirals, I concentrate on keeping my steps small and singular. Taking on too much at once is my own personal guarentee of failure.
And if none of that helps, please accept a hug and wishes for a better day.
Honestly, I am not going to "blab" positive thinking because it wont work well when all hell is breaking loose in your head. When you feel better take some time to write down the good things that have happened or exist in your life. I have an extensive list that I could NEVER have made while feeling like you do. But, by having it, I can read through it when I feel this way and it reminds me that my "brain crashing" is more about my disorder and less about my life.
I hope you feel better soon........I feel you and I am working my way toward where you are so I will be thinking of you and hoping the best for both of us........xoxo
