Like lionne wrote.. it's as though the world stops for you and keeps going for everyone else...
All I can say from my experience is keep reaching out and venting...If you need a med tweak please see your doc..
It's a process and takes time sweetie... Eventually the pain of now becomes memories that can sometimes painful, sometimes sweet..
Certain events alter our lives for ever..
I'm hugging you sweetie and I'm so sorry for the pain you're in..xoxo
There is no instruction manual, on how long or deep the pain is. I remember I thought I'd Healed, and didn't cry at the thought of him...and out of no where, the grief jumps up. (HE is my step father, the only person that nurtured and was proud of me, and taught me a lot of my morals, ethics) I still miss him!
I think your pain, is in direct proportion of the love and loss you feel for him! That's a lot of love, and he loved you too!!!!!!!
I used to wonder what he would say, to calm me or stop the crying - one time I really knew! Like I heard him in my head, and I held on to words, they were right words and helped!
We are here for you! I personally have been thinking of you a LOT the last few days : ) I'm sorry to see your in pain, but very grateful to SEE YOU!!!!!!! Wishing you peace and comfort ASAP....
Dee, I can't say how sorry I am for your loss. Just be gentle and kind with yourself until time starts to heal your pain.
Big hug for you. Am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
I hear your pain and sadness.
I know what you are going through.
64 is really so young

(((((((((((comforting hugs))))))))))))
I'm so sorry. Its so painful. When my sister died, it was like a nightmare that you cannot wake from, the little by little (very tiny bits) it gets a bit easier to function.
Now I am able to cherish and feel blessed that she was in my life for 23 years. Instead of mourning her death, I celebrate her life
It took me years and years to get to this place.
This just happened Dee and its this time that its so very hard. Your in my thoughts and I'm here if you need me
I'm afraid you're just going to have to feel bad until you feel better.
How long and how hard one grieves depends on so many factors.
Do you have an online memorial for him? Do you think you would benefit by making one for him?
They have many free ones that are very, very nice.
If you Google 'online memorial', you'll get a lot of hits.
When you think of your dad, do you talk to him and tell him how much you love him and miss him? Sometimes, doing that will help you to feel better.
What about your work with photography? Can you create a work of art to honor your father?
And never forget that your dad would (or does!) want you to be happy again!!
Sometimes we have a hard time letting go of the grieving because the grief keeps us closer to our loved one, in a way.
When the grief eases a bit, that fact can immediately be replaced by a sense of guilt for moving on, as though that means we no longer love them as much.
Every time you find yourself feeling a bit of happiness, take even more pleasure in it, knowing that your dad wants this for you!!
You'll never quit missing him, but the time will come when you aren't carrying a constant sorrow with you at all times.
And many of your memories of him will make you feel happy and bring a smile to your face.
For now, just shed your tears when they come. There's no real way to 'skip' mourning for someone you've lost.
((((((((((Hugs))))))))))
i am so sorry. i wish i had some words to take away the pain, but know that i support you and care for you.
All I can say is that you need to keep going ang remember that your life has great potential for happiness.
Carpe Diem my friend, please find your happiness.
I know the website name sounds morbid, but you can make up a memorial to him, and leave flowers and "talk" to him. It's very therapeutic. I did it when my grandma died.
I'm sorry you're still hurting so much. There is no rule that says you have to be healed from the pain by any particular time. Grieve as long as you need to. xoxo.
