I am taking Lithium and Lamictal which are working together well for me.

My pd is having a hard time finding a sleep med though, so far all the ones I have tried leave me a zombie all day...UGH!

I called today to check in with him and he wants me to stop what I'm taking and start taking Seroquel.

Have you or any one you know taken this med?
How has it worked for you?
I am bp1 with rapid cycling and mixed moods, not sure if that would make a difference with a sleep med?

Any information would be appreciated...thanks...

i'm a bp2 and i was prescribed seroquel for anxiety, but all it did was put me to sleep. it feels like xanax for the first 20 minutes or so, but then it just put me out like a light. even during the day i could barely fight it. also: it left me with a gross feeling the next morning until i was up and running. that's just my experience though. good luck.

im bp nos and i take seroquel for pyschosis and mania. works very well for me. i take 100mgs 6 times a day so it is not all taken at once which also helps keep my anxitey under conrol and stops me from feeling to sleepy during the day.

seroquel was very helpful to me when no other sleeping med worked. I didn't really feel groggy or sleepy...but somehow i was able to go to sleep. It was added to my other meds though, didn't replace something

It makes me sleep for a hour then I am up again. I hope you find something that works well for you. Im still looking too.

I take Seroquel XR (300 mgs.)about 5 or 6 pm and sleep ALL night for the first time in memory. BP1, mixed episodes, too. I wake up wide awake (after a few days of acclimation)
It's probably more expensive but definitely worth it if you can afford it.

Seroquel will definitely make you sleep. It made me groggy the next day and I was only on a lose dose, 50 mg, for sleep. The grogginess didn't last long. I have heard there is some weight gain associated with it and that is the main reason my pdoc took me off of it.

I took Seroquel last summer to help me sleep and it worked great! I only needed it for a few months. I was able to use it in combination w/Paxil, Lamictal and Wellbutrin. Hope this helps. :)

Thanks for all your responses. My pd has me raising the dosage slowly. I am at 75mg and still waking up but not groggy anymore but very tired like I could sleep on the spot.

If there is no difference in a another day or two I will try raising the dose again. Thanks to all of you for your input!

I have been on Li, and Lamictal full time for 6 years, sick for 15, but I love seroquel sleep, but, I hate the seroquel stone in am...Zyprexa, and Clonazepam are very good for me too..
