That's all I got for now.
I meditate and take myself to places in my memory that are/were pleasurable for me. It gives me a sense of peace to focus on those things. I also do visual and audio meditation.
Some of the external techniques I use are exercise, tactile brushing, singing, writing, painting watercolor, sketching, quilting, gardening.
Sometimes I will make sandwiches brand new socks some Gatorade and go give them to homeless people along.
SMELL- something you like, like a candle or coffee. whatever soothes you.
TOUCH-like a soft stuffed animal or silly putty, sress ball, a puzzle,
SIGHT- pictures of people you love, a book, a dvd with relaxing pictures like a fire place or a water fall
HEAR- cd with gentle music, or water sounds
TASTE-your favorite candy or chocolate.
these are just examples, pick things that soothe you. it really works.
when i cant find my box i run for the coffee and take a big sniff and i relax. i hope this helps. it has really helped me. be creative!
Hot baths with shampoo's with good smell and lots of suds
a special herbal tea that you love in winter months with honey
or a tot toddy
curling up by the fireplace if you have one (I don't )
have a high tea at 4:30 , scones and tea or toast and jam and tea
invest in $9. a month in netflix it's really worth it
do some yoga moves to get those muscles moving
