This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
Then take Admiral's advice.
Are you are perfectionist Zeinna? High achievers, smart kids so often are is all...and it's very common if you are a perfectionist to believe setbacks in your health that are having an impact on your studies at a particular time mean you are now a 'failure/loser/pitiable' (cos you gotta be perfect/golden child 100% of your life...which is a punishing & unhealthy standard for anyone..have seen this in people I'm close to)
I gather you are in therapy - of sorts- I hope your therapist can address this issue with your self esteem effectively. Wish you the best Zeinna- lots & lots of bright kids/teens/young adults have similar setbacks due to variety of reasons..but it's not the end of the story....when you really have your bp in hand (with good doctor/therapy) & can also work on this (very common to those diagnosed with mental illness 'narcissistic wound of the psyche'..in thinking you are inferior somehow?? )(happens to many- not a put down at all) & are helped with self esteem....you can get through this very hard time. I hope this helps, doesn't offend..and isn't too off beam/left of centre- if I've read you wrong, well, then, I'm sorry for that. just my 2 cents x
One of my sisters is also a somewhat reformed Perfectionist (led to anorexia in her case..) She made full recovery from this setback & when healthy/de-perfection-ised-got back to her high achieving self & is doing brilliantly to this day. There is hope, I promise you (loads of similar stories I could tell you)
:) x
