Yesterday I was diagnosed as being bipolar. It occurred to me today that maybe my son is too. I had my son evaluated to see what was going on with him when he was quite young. He has been receiving special help but has never had a diagnosis. I looked up pediatric bipolar disorder and the symptoms sound exactly like my son. I also completed the child bipolar questionnaire and it seems he has all the signs. As a child I know how much I struggled with my issues and would love to have my son somehow screened professionally. He will be five in July, so he is still very young. Is there anyway to have him screened at this age? Who would I talk to about something like this? Will everyone think that I'm just being paranoid and not take my concerns seriously? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!!!

Wow, it's the middle of the week already!Today is our 11 year anniversary, so we're going out to a nice dinner. I'm losing a lot of sleep these days, hence a wonky schedule and uncomfortable feelings. But I know it will pass, eventually.I hope all of you have a peaceful day, and may good things come your way!
There are people that do beleive it and have their child diagnosed.
There are those that believe BP is not expressed at that age.
There seem to be psychiatric experts in both camps.
