Just curious what people think
I am a christian and I listen to some hard rock including bands such as Nine Inch Nails, A Perfect Circle and Tool.. Is his something only old holly rollers look at as being wrong, becase honestly in some of their songs I don't like the message but in others the message is very STRONG and it pertains to life etc...

Just wanted to know thoughts..

I lived the "church" life for 10 years and was miserable. I would sneak my music. I quit the church and know that is not what God is worried about. I go to a new church that actually has a band. I saw Tool this summer. I love them. What would church think if they heard my Rob Zombie on my Ipod? I'm not being bad. I'm being true and still love God.

I'm not sure, as none of the 'holy rollers' I know think that music like that is evil. They just don't like it much. Besides, there are Christian bands that sound like these groups nowadays.

Honestly? I think you must be living in a country with a strong religious right/puritanical streak (the US) to ask such a question & to feel the need to defend yr position. Such a non issue from where I stand. *shrug*

I THINK SOME OF THE SONGS THESE GROUPS SING SOUND INNAPROPIATE BUT I THINK THEY ARE MESSED UP LIKE SOME OF US AND THEY ARE JUST EXPRESSING THEIR FEELING THRU MUSIC JUST AS WE DO THRU WRITING. I THINK TRENT REZNOR FORM N.I.N. IS A GENIUS. BTW I LOVED JOHNNY CASH'S VERION OF "HURT" IT WAS AWSOME AND VERY HAUNTING. BIPO11

The church I attend has no problem with "Secular" music. My pastor is sixty three and loves to play guitar. Last week he opened the service with his rendition of "Long Tall Sally". The man can play that old time rock-n-roll.

Hey, ever listen to POD? They are pretty cool...Christian Hard Rock, heavy. Newsboys are pretty good too. She's not heavy metal but you might like Nicole Sponberg's Ressurrection CD (that's a kick ass song that applies big time to us beepers, though it's not intended to necessarily)
