My husband is verbally abusive

I've been married to a bi polar man for 10 years. He says the most hurtful things to me. I feel like a shell of what I once used to be. He never apologizes, he just pretends later like nothing ever happened.  I really don't know how much longer I can take it. He moved me away from my family, to a small town.  If I wanted to leave just to get away from him for awhile I hsve no clue where I would go. He always has all of our money


 Any suggestions would be very helpful. I'm almost at my wits end

There's a Friends and Families of BiPolars Board that might be able to help you, but most folks on this Board actually have BiPolar.

You might check with the local Social Services or Women's Shelter in your town if you seriously want to leave him, they might be able to help you get back to your family home.

Being abusive doesn't come hand in hand with bipolar so I agree that you need to focus on local help from social services or women's shelters.

I see also he is a tier 1 sexual offender so that possibly indicates you need to ensure your own safety, I don't know.

As said, we are bipolar here but I don't think that we would have any special knowledge that would help you.

I am sorry you go through this. Perhaps he has bipolar and other concurrent disorder. You said " he moved me away from my family", this sounds like possibly an abusive relationship. You have options, call a hotline and ask for resources and help for victims of DV. A psychotherapist would also be helpful and might help you feel empowered! Hugs

People who are Bipolar can get agitated or 'wound up' when in an unwell state however what you're describing reads like something different then Bipolar Disorder..

This sounds cruel and vicious and they aren't symptoms of Bipolar.... I am so sorry that you're going through this....xo

    Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.
