Ones than can work as a mood stabilizer & for bipolar depression?

I think maybe Abilify... But those two come to mind off the top of my head...

I will look into those..I looked up my pills..and sum of it fits in what my smtyoms are but sumthing isnt rite..i dont no what i asked for a reassment on my pills if she dose think ya this should be chagne i want to be able to mention sumthing..for all i know she mite say no or lower abit even would be nice

I take both Lamictal & Seroquel myself, I find they work very well. I am maxed out on Lamictal though... Seroquel can be hard to get used to & if you do get put on it & weight gain is a problem, you may want to ask about Topamax - that also works as a mood stabilizer (I am also on that, works fabulous!) I do take an SSRI - Zoloft low dose for OCD, and have low dose risperdal for as needed. Of course everyone is different and has different needs. But most people love lamictal, provided you just don't get that rash side effect. - Wish you the best :-D

Lamictal can often do it on it's own, especially if you are BP2. I also have seroquel but for me it's to stop hypomania if it starts to get out of control.

Serequol is actually designed as an anitpsych med, Serequol on its own does not work to help you rmood (in my experience).

I use Epilim as a mood stabilser another similar form of the drug is depakote, works well for me.

Yea I am with Boxrep that for me I use it only as an antipsychotic, but it is marketed to here for this:

"Seroquel XR is a once-daily tablet approved to treat acute depressive episodes in bipolar disorder; acute manic or mixed episodes in bipolar disorder alone or when added to lithium or divalproex; long-term maintenance of bipolar disorder when added to lithium or divalproex; and schizophrenia."

Some people use it as a mood stabilizer, personally I have Lamictal & Topamax for that... and maybe the Seroquel helps some as an added benefit :-D

meme lamictail is one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more on the deppreshion side though..but it is a mood stalizer fda approved

i gotta say that i love lamictal, it's the only med i'm on now and i'm more stable than i've been for years (in terms of mood and bp depression). i have had some weight gain but no other problems (rash/foggyness etc)
