I'm a college student who is just one year away from not needing to use my mothers income for financial aid.
I already signed up for my 16 credit hours and she still hasn't done her taxes and is always too busy to give me her other info. She told me to rip up the info from last year, so I did... But now I don't have it and I'm terrified I'm not going to be able to go to school in the Fall. I talked to my therapist about it, and she said to give my mother a deadline for when it needs to be done or I can't go to school. I did that and all she did was yell at me... I'm so, so scared. It's making me way more anxious than I need to be. It feels like my head is going to pop off.
School is VERY important to me. It's something that I'm good at. I'm an almost all A student, except for the C+ I got last semester for missing a lot of class.
I need school to better my life and my mom is just not taking that seriously.
AHHH

Everyday I feel more and more sick. Being in pain every day, I've learned to disguise it. So well that others don't believe my pain when I speak of it. Needing help but only receiving negative responses, I find my way but pay for it later. I absolutely need the rest but there's pressing things to be done.

Ugh my depression is really being triggered by the grief of losing my mom. Ugh it sucks. I wish this pain would leave me already.

You can complete the financial aid forms using an estimation for your mom's 2011 return. That way she wouldn't have to have her return actually completed and filed.
What did your mom yell at you when you asked her to have the info complete by a certain date? That might give some insight into the root problem.
Have you talked to the financial aid office at school and explained that there is a delay in getting your mom's financial information? Perhaps they have a suggestion for the next step.
You sound **very** passionate about school. :) What are you studying?
I am going to school for humanities, at community college. From there I will transfer to Buffalo State college and pursue journalism.
Baby #2 (my middle daughter) graduated from the University of Oregon with a journalism degree. She works as the audience developer for a construction/trucking/mining organization. Not exactly the glamour of Time, Newsweek or a fashion rag, but the $$ is good and her background in equipment operation on the farm helped her get the job.
Sounds like she's overwhelmed by the request. Maybe offering to help will do the trick.
Glad its taken care of!!!! Woo hoo ; )
She wanted my help that morning, but I slept in because I was babysitting my best friend all night on the phone making sure he didn't kill himself. She got mad at me because I didn't call her for her to pick me up. She could have called me and told me she was ready! She always plays this game. "Oh, I didn't want to wake you up." and I've told her a MILLION times "Mom, call me and I will cancel everything I'm doing, unless its school or a doc appt, to help you with whatever you want. So, later that night I went to a pride even with my neighbor and her friends and she blew up my phone while I was there, I finally got out of the noise to call her back and she started screaming at me because I wasn't helping her clean her house after my stepdad's mom died and they got a lot of stuff from her apt.... She guilt tripped me for 30 mins before I finally just hung up. Oh, and my sister is a saint!
She's 30, has two kids, and my mom does EVERYTHING for them. She drive from her house to my sisters apt so my sister can go to the store down the street that she very well could walk to. My sister refuses to take the bus. I am almost 100% on my own and I get treated like crap. My sister, who might as well still be in my mothers womb, gets treated like gold...
Sorry for the rant, I just needed to get it out of my system!
I'm kinda just going insane right now. I'm so sick of the games she plays.
On a lighter note...YAY! I'm glad you got things worked out with school! You seem very passionate about it :)
