What does a mixed episode feel like? because I think I am experiencing one and it feels like my mind is freaking out. I have a ton of energy, everything besides the euphoria of mania, and a horrible suicidal depression. I am freaking out. What do I do? THis is like suicide waiting to happen.

I feel for you. It does sound like a mixed episode and those are no fun at all...

Can you call your pdoc? I know it is the weekend but maybe he has an emergency number. Let us know how you are doing. ((hugs))

I completely agree...yes, i attempted suicide on a mixed episode. you experience the worst parts of mania such as anger and irritability, you have a lot of energy and don't know what to do w/it yet you are tremendously depressed...it's horrible. While i was in the hospital, my doctor stated that many bipolars attempt during a mixed episode. Please contact your pdocs emergency number or go to the hospital so that your safe. the good thing is that you are realizing what is occurring right now..you can end up not realizing and it just completely takes over (well this is from my experience i cannot speak for everyone)....Just get help..call your family, friends as well... I completely feel for you!!!

call the emergency helpline there is one on here ,i have had a mixed episode they are horrible ,are you on any meds ,perhaps you need a hospital stay to get stable when i was in min i begged them to admit me but they wouldnt ,cause i wasnt having suicidal thoughts . best of luck to you

oh and to answer what it feels like ,its like being tired but wired exhausted but having energy ,or should i say anxiety,when i had mine my whole body ached from exhaustion but i walked and walked because i couldnt sit still,i also did not sleep a wink ,added to the problem they put me on geodon and it snapped me out of it right away ,i am still dealing with issues from anxiety but im in no place like i was at that time i never want to go there again

I am on meds. Remeron and Abilify (only to be taken during mania and I wasn't sure what was going on so I haven't taken it) but I think I will. I hope it works because this is a really weird feeling. I wasn't sure what was going on until I looked it up. Normally I am just bipolar one with mania and depression. Never had a mixed episode before. I hope it never happens again. And yea I haven't been sleeping at all. THat should have been my first clue. I don't want to go to the hospital. I have anxiety over them. I don't know what else to do.

Does sound like a mixed episode.
Do you have a benzadiazapine prescribed that you can take until you can contact pdoc
