So I was doing fine for a while, then I started getting harassing phone calls, right about the time I decided to let certain family members back in my life. I may as well come out with it,I'm afraid I'll go to hell if I don't patch things up with my family. But my attempts to do that have been,in a word, disastrous. Also there's a young guy here at home who has become my friend,he used to come to my room for coffee and we'd have marathon talks which I really enjoyed, and I know he did too. Until his ex-girlfriend,who also lives here, started coming to my room just to see him,I always said she was as welcome as he was but,as is obvious. that grand gesture also failed,as Billy (not his real name) is becoming annoyed about his ex bugging him. I turned off my phone for a few days and am trying to pull it together. If I was allowed to have pets here I think I'd get a cat or a dog since I know animals can't hurt you like people can.
Right now I'm in my nightie and robe, hiding in my room. All my life I've had to try hard to keep people from turning me into a doormat for some reason. I must be lookin' for love in all the wrong places.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

We all want meaning in our lives and to have friends and family in our hearts. We let people in and sometimes we let the wrong people in....and they hurt us sometimes intentionally and sometimes not.
Having an awareness of where we end and they begin helps us to know how they hurt us and why. It also helps us to have distance from those who intentionally hurt like family members. It's OK to be kind to others Loddy and its OK to escort those who hurt and are mean to the furthest reaches of or heart. All can be done without raising your voice or stooping to their level of mean cruelty. We do our best Loddy and some times we make mistakes. Learn from the mistakes and don't let people treat you in a less than respectful manner! Love yourself hon!
Just look at their behaviour if indeed they're making prank calls... That's no good L... I would keep my distance and keep the person in my prayers
If you aren't up to having company in your room sweetie and I would just tell people you need some quiet time for you... Big hug...x
And I'ld like to add that you will NOT go to hell for not reuiniting with your family!
When you let Jesus into your life, and do you best to forgive those who have harmed you, you are on the right track. In know way does God want you to be a doormat.
We get to heaven by the gift of grace, not by works. It doesn't make human sense, but it's the deal the bible speaks of.
Perhaps some youtube videos or narcassicist and thier victims, or er uh, their codependents. Would help you see some of the ongoing behaviours. Because you have a kind and loving heart you may find it diffiucult to understand those who so easily walk all over others.
It's your job to protect yourself first! And I wasn't raised that way either, so it's a lot of work. You can't allow some woman you really don't care about (your friends ex) to ruin the relatinship you had built with each other. Now you both have loss. And what she wants is him back(wild guess), not to mention could likely care less about you.
I know it's hard to say "no". But perhaps you could put it across as a new rule, when she comes a knocking, that you just don't let anyone in anymore(for whatever reason, your rest, things come up missing, feel uncomfortable your place is too cluttered, whatever). You don't owe her any explanation beyond that or even that. But just trying to come up with some ideas that would be easy for you to say, without feeling your are rejecting her. As far as he coming in concern, he is the one exception to the rule. But if someone you barely know has the gall to stand there and question why you won't invite her into your home, she is disrespecting you, right there! Perhaps, you only invite people in you've know for X amoutn of years? Or he's just here to help fix such and such. If she continually knows he is there, than she is stalking him! I agree it's also his responsibility to get her to stop following him to your space.
Have you heard of the crank call websites?? I know some people who that is how they get their kicks. You can crank em back, but is that really how you want to spend your time? I did one, just to let her know, I knew, even though she didn't know who I was, she knew someone was on to her. but she had already blocked her number so i had to do some finagleaing. sp?
