Ever since they put me on lamictal for bipolar and abilify my sex drive died. I had a manic hypersexual episode lasting about a year until I finally called out for help. the doctor's put me on this drug and I feel like. . .no personality totally flat and sexless. Is this the other side of the manic episode. I want to go off these meds.And I might due it without the doctor's permission. I have never cut myself or harmed anyone physically. Just emotionally. I guess I harmed myself and my marriage when I went thru the manic stuff. . .too embarrassing to talk about. Do other bipolars get hypersexual? and what about this downward spiral. I feel dead on these meds. the doctor said, you will never reach that high again. I am flipping over this. please advise

one thing to consider...is it just a drastic drop from hypersexuality that you are not used to? a lot of times this will get better over time...esp the flatness...it is just your bodies way of leveling out...
krystindiane is right about most of us having some experiences with "sluttin" and the guilt and self hate is not good!!
i was on lamictal and didnt like how it flattened my mood. i also suffered from no sex drive. so of corse i stopped taking it. my drive is back, but i'm still crazy. oh well.
