I currently take saphris and lithium. They both work but I have some undesirable side effects. Lithium cause frequent urination to the point of bed wetting( I know tmi!) and the saphris causes over heating. Does anybody know if there is an antipsychotic that does not have overheating as a side effect? What is a another good mood stabilizer? I see my pdoc on Thursday next week.

Good day to everyone...Well sort of day...I'm still waiting to sleepI think I will soonI got a few things done yesterday...Pushing through and I hope to do the same todayI've been low so everything at this point is one big effortHopefully that will change before longSending hugs...Have a good day!...xo
YES the water issue was a pain , but I wish I could take Lithium...While on it, that's when I was most stable.
Other mood stabilizers are Depakote, but that causes over heating also.
I think most mood stabilizers have that as a side effect.
Try Googling Crazymeds.com
On the side bar of that web site you can look up different meds, and get a FULL listing of side effects, many of them your Pdoc won't mention
I also take the mood stabilizer Lamictal, which is a good choice other than it giving you a rash at a certain high enough dose.
I've never had overheating with antipsychotics, and I've been on Abilify, Seroquel, Geodon, Zyprexa, and Risperdal.
Hope you find the answer in better meds for your body - that you find the right fits.
I'm on saphris too but I don't get over heated...actually I'm cold all the time. I'm also on epival (depakote) as another mood stabilizer and it's been great. I does make me crave carbs though, so that's one bad side effect to it.
Good luck
