Marriage...5%?

This one is personal, and I don't need you to tell me whether you are happily married, or married at all....

Statistics say that 95% of marriages where at least 1 partner is bipolar, end in divorce.

Throw in the fact that I have BPD, OCPD, GAD, and polysubstance abuse issues, are we hopeless??

I have an extremely supportive, extremely "normal" spouse and we have an awesome marriage, but are we doomed for failure?

Have you seen this happen??

Congrats Lindamark, and I agree that anything worth having takes some work. And, you have grandchildren (saw your profile). I haven't been blessed with them yet..yet..yet!!!!!!

I'm going through my second divorce now:( I will never attempt marriage again. it is to painful, for everyone involved. I am still good friends with my second ex.

Divorces are painful. Be a free man for awhile. At some point you may fall in love again. Enjoy the NOW.

LOL - I think what I got out of the thread - and I always grab "different" things that most : )

I got - let's not count divorces, I think we should count marriages!!! We'd win, I know two couples with a bipolar spouse that has married each other TWICE!!!!

A lot of people do that. I don't get it. If I'm at the point of getting a divorce I sure in hell don't want to try again with the same person.
You already know all their bad faults. Why go through it again.
There are 8 Billion people on this earth. Why not shop around???
