Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

I have been on disability for many years now. I'm working with vocational rehab to get back to work part-time. I'm feel scared to get back out to the working world since has been so long since I worked. I used to be such a hard worker. I would do what I was told and work extra hours when things were busy.
Now I've become tired and sluggish. The world's an expensive place so I need to do something. I can't really depend on anyone else. I have family but I don't think they would want to help if something happen besides I don't want to be a burden.
I'm depressed about what I've become. I know I can't go back to the old me. I just can't seem to come to terms with the current me.
I do have a wonderful therapist but I'm still struggling.

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...

Just like your rehab, take it slow and strong. each day will put another brick on your mansion.
Much of the time it can feel stressful and scary until you actually get out there and get your feet in the water, so to speak. Then when you actually get busy doing the job you chose, it can feel really good to be doing something again.
Your on a good path with all the positive decisions you're making, and the support you're getting along the way. Give yourself the time and comfort of finding the right job, so you're comfortable and happy with it once you get there.
Its normal to have fear of the "new", but don't discount the good feelings "success and doing" can bring when you get there.
Take care,
