Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
When I took Seroquel and I got any agitation or weirdness I could take one or two to help ground me.
Hopefully you are on some kind of antipsychotic to deter any psychotic slippage.
If not, I would definitely talk to your doc about it.
Also, if you are only hypomanic and aren't really manic, do you tend to go through these states and come out ok (for me that is often the case) or does it usually slide into mania or psychosis? If the last part is the case than I would get professional help. I don't really know what you mean by 'I can't stop myself" because I'm not sure what behavior you're having.
Perhaps you could tell us a little more.
Also, if it's just hypo and not severe and you don't generally slide into mania, try to remind yourself that it's only hypomania and avoid getting too anxious about it. If you stress yourself out, you could just be having a panic attack. Hard to say.
As for tellign you a little more tonight for example Ive gone out smoked 2 spliffs with a amte then run off by slef to a club where i got with 10 different people of both sexes against bith my parents and care co-ordinators advice, its liek i just cant tell whats bad and whats good anymore . . .
Hmm. Well the hypersexuality does sound pretty manic to me; I think if I'm understanding you correctly, you have passed the hypo point to the manic point, sad to say. Of course, I don't need to lecture you on booze and drugs as you know this is a problem and obviously you're struggling with it.
This may be a longshot, but can you stay with a friend or relative who can watch over you and help you restrain yourself? Or at least keep you occupied and out of trouble?
Another thought is how about housecleaning to work off some off that manic energy and keep you occupied.
I'm also concerned about your ability to get to sleep as that will be crucial. I don't really know what to recommend as there are drugs and alcohol involved; Benadryl from Walgreens might be ok. It's just a decongestant that makes you drowsy.
If you feel too out of control, you might consider going inpatient until meds can be regulated and maybe a safe medical detox for the drinking.

You say you can't stop so I would suggest you go to an AA meeting. I'm not saying your an alcoholic or that you even need to go. There is always one way to find out if your an alcoholic and that is to stop drinking on your own and see if you are able, if you can stop on your own for thirty days your probably ok, but if you can't stop your probably an alcoholic but only you can decide that but hearing other pple talk about their experiences should help you. best of luck
