Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I guess it depends on persons manic phase. I'm more on the depressed side.
When I get manic...I hit myself or break things.
When I feel it going too far,I Xanax my self to sleep oblivian ....usually I wake up feeling better.
I am not a dr. or a pharmacist so I don't know how many pills are too many. Self medicating is very dangerous and it is no joke to tell someone to take enough to knock themself out.
Talk to your dr about weather you should go to the hospital. I have a couple of close friends that I trust to tell me when I am that sick.
Manic stages can be just as dangerous as depressive stages even though many enjoy them. For me it is like getting on a roller coaster ride; no matter how scary or bad the ride gets, you can't get off till the ride is over. Okiegirl
