LOL! I did exactly that. I painted the whole living room deep blue during a manic phase. BUT, I did remember it. Loved it! I would have never done that otherwise!

However, I have experienced memory loss associated with full blown mania. It's either that or the meds. It's hard to tell.

Yep. But I've never had a manic episode that only lasted a few hours, mine last a few weeks. and Hypo mania usually lasts months for me

I've never experienced memory loss though I've told staff at hospital that I didn't remember. I even remember having a black out while I was driving. I suppose it's possible to have a short-term mania since we're all different but my manias always lasted for months.

i have chunks burnt out but at the same time the most traumatic times are crystal.

Feelings are Underwater most times though. Manic Episodes are funny only when they are mis-interpreted and wrongly termed.

I am not sure if I would call it memory loss or lost time for me. I have had times when I look around and realize I have no memory of the last several hours and at the worst the last several days. However, it seems to happen to me more when I am depressed.

l lost my first year at uni l was deeply depressed from the stress of a break up and moving to a new city, l had to start a few weeks later a remember the 2nd day standing by the local station waiting to meet up with friends to go to an exhibit in the city 11mths later l remember standing by someone's desk thinking how the hell did l get here and what the hell were we talking about.

It always affects me that way.

I could never figure out if my memory loss was from the mania, or the massive amount of drugs and ECT I was given from Dr. InsaneAsylum.

I hope I never have to figure that out again. I'm also thinking that even with rapid cycling mania, it should last for a fairly long time, until they bring you down. I think short term stuff might come under a different category. Like the top end of hypomania, not that I really know.

the day i landed in the hospital i only have glimpses of.. the real memory shit is the few months following the climax. like temporary blindness..

I only forget what happens during a manic episode. I get better and have no idea what happened. Jacob tells me what I did

I had a manic episode before Easter and cleaned the kitchen cubboards and the stove ( which looks new).
I had proof that I did something but still couldn't believe that I had done that. My hubby told me that I did it.
I remember me telling people that I did it but I was still in Mania.
Haven't come down yet.

For sure, I dont realize it during but when its over there are huge memory gaps...very annoying. I also lose track of time like minutes, hours, days, and months. My last one was the worst..the last thing I remembered was jan 26 and it was march!

Definitely, often don't remember what I did or said.
