My mother is by far THE strongest woman I've ever seen. I can only remember once in my life that she cried, and that was over 20 years ago....aside from this morning.
My mother has been helping me since my most recent 'episode', helping with the kids, doing a lot of my housework. I've even told my Mom to stop doing so much housework. She was supposed to stay another day or so, but she practically ran out the door this morning.
I asked her if she was ok, and I told her that she seemed agitated. She immediately started to cry. I said she could talk to me about it, she just shook her head and locked herself in the bathroom for the remainder of her crying, then left, in a hurry.
What did I do? That's all that running through my head. Is it my fault? Did I make her do too much? How on earth did I make the strongest woman alive break down?
Sorry, just venting, I don't expect you all to know the answers. It makes me cry to see my mother cry.

I know how hard it is to see your mom cry. A few years after I was diagnosed I found some prescription meds for my mom on the fridge. Turns out my depression was making her depressed and she had been on meds and seeking therapy for a while, all because of me. It made me angry at myself, but it also motivated me to get better.
I can see how she could be overwhelmed, I've just never in my adult life seen her cry, even when I would have expected her to (like at her father's funeral).
The older our mom's get the more sensitive they get.
Somethings are better left alone. Make sure you send or give her a gift for helping you.
