I was diagnosed with BP at the beginning of the school year (I'm a student) and it's been a hell of a year. I've been experiencing extreme mood shifts and I'm going off a strong medication that didn't work for me (lamictal) but I'm just having horrible withdrawals. I had a great weekend with friends but now I'm just so low. I'm depressed, anxious, and shameful. Any advice on carrying out through med changes?

Hi and Welcome bipolarbear...... I'm sorry that you're struggling right now.... Are you working with your doctor sweetie?
I had to go off of Lamictal but I didn't have any symptoms coming off of it I was on other medication though

Med changes are my most troubling aspect of this illness. I think you have to work as closely as possible with your doctor. Sometimes I need extra Ativan to help with it. Hope you get some relief soon...and that you and your doctor can work together on it.
