O - lithium worked well for a while but then I couldn't tolerate the side effects and had to go off.

0+ my hands shake, some days worse than others. i dont know where id be now if it weren't for lithium.

I'm boring O+ and lithium has sent me in to a major depression-don't want mania.

O negative and, at 2100mgs., lithium has been a lifesaver.

O- Lithium works fine a little too Blahh and some hand tremors otherwise that with Seroquel seems to be keeping me sain.

I have O+ blood type and take 300mg of Lithium every day. It's been a great mood stabilizer for me. Haven't had any problems.

55 years later and I still have no clue.

I'm AB neg. Lithium controlled my mania pretty well but was useless to help my depressions. I was glad to come off of it.

I get to be the first B neg.

Had the shakes for a short time. It worked but it messed up my thyroid and I gained a LOT of weight. Stopped it and am now on Lamictal.

Lithium worked but had very narrow therapeutic range. Depakote works better in all respects

i am op and never tried lithium but by the sounds of it i may not want to huh?

I have also had bad weight gain. But never tried any other alternative because its worked so well for me. Do get nausia about 5 hrs after tablets kicks in which can be a little annoying but since switching to taking meds at night...I sleep off the effect....until the alarm goes off and I feel the medication hangover....gotta love that every morning *sighs*.
Don't have too bad a hand shakes....but my sis says I shake like a jackhammer some days (not always) when I greet her with a hug (personal jokes now! Only Bpers and family would understand :)

O+ works great, no side effects. On other meds too but I think this one does the most good for me.
