Just diagnosed with Bipolar 1. I'm wondering if lithium can stop this 'wired' feeling? Will it let me sleep? I crave to feel slower, less thoughts, more sleepy.

It should slow your mind and if that is what is keeping you awake you will probably have a peaceful night with in 3 weeks of starting it. For me it was about one week to feel a difference in my depression. work closely with your pdoc on this.
