was thinking about buying a light box   i found one reasonable   then googled it  seems it can trigger a manic episode  true  or wrong information  be happy to now if anyone has expeienced this

Yes for people like you and me, who tend to be edged towards Mania, light boxes can trigger manic or hypomanic eps. I would not use one unless your Pdoc or Psych Nurse specifically says it's a good idea. I've never been able to use one.

This is from an article on epocrates.com regarding side effects of Light Boxes:

"In predisposed individuals, the light box may cause manic periods or milder forms of manic periods known as hypomania. Although some can tolerate hypomania, it could also lead to adverse behavioral changes."

wow thanks i thought of that but did not think that hypomania can become mania with it since i am hypomanic most of the time it would be too dangerous thanks again
