Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

So, I haven't been on here in years, like 15 maybe. I was diagnosed with bipolar when I was around 10-11, was in and out of therapy for years and on and off of various prescription for all of those years. One day I found this site full of great people in my teens and got a lot of great advice, and learned to cope and found a few great people that taught me how to deal with life. Now I find myself in a very rough spot and hope to find a better way again. I have spent my last 3 years surrounded by the deaths of most of the wonderful people who made up my support networks. And after 10 years I find myself separated from my husband. I found myself turning to hiding the symptoms of my problems with lots of smoking a bit of drinking (a very small bit I hate alcohol) and hiding myself away from the world back in my little hole that I climbed out of and swore never to go back too. Now I'm not normally one to talk about my life or problems but I've really realized my mind is going back to very dark places that I'm not a fan of. And really just needed to express and put my thoughts out in the world. I don't want to ramble but long story short I experienced a manic episode recently which is something I hadn't had in years and today I remembered the depression that inevitably follows also its been a while since I experienced one of those. I don't think it's the first one in the last year but I think it's the first one where I was brought back from high to sober to realize the world I created for myself. And now I am experiencing emotions the hard real way and I don't remember how to deal with them. But I do remember writing helps. Getting my mind onto paper (or a screen) takes some of it away. I appreciate being heard here, and having this moment to just ramble about me. Thank you

It's been some time since my last post...sorry. I've been going through a challenging time with the sale of my home, purchase of a condo and my adult asperger son that lives with me. I've had days where I couldn't get out of bed, days where I stayed in my pj's and days where all I managed to do was eat, drink fluids and take care of my Sweet Mia kitty. Sweet Mia came to me from a shelter about...

This is a pretty good place to come to. Most everyone seems to set aside their burdens to grab a big hunk of yours and help carry. <3
Sounds like you have a lot of grieving going on with the loss of friends and marriage. It's a very painful place to be and to manage symptoms. I'm sorry for your losses...been there and it's a really hard place to work out of to see light again.
Please just be gentle with yourself, lots of self care...good diet and maybe some walking....write and ramble away :) Take Good Care
it's good to come on here and vent. I think you're doing right by yourself and I hope you will try
and continue some form of expression about your losses - here - or if not here - with a therapist or in a journal
or through art. These are very tough transitions you are going through - and when life sets upon us some
curve balls - we need to step back - reassess - and remember the ways to take care of ourselves and our lives.
Again sending peace your way. Mark
