Jury Duty...

Doc says Kill them all let God sort them out is not the type of juror they are looking for.... Just Kidding LOL.

Seriously though I have been called and Pdoc says no because of my disorder. Mainly she is concerned if I get sequestered I cant get meds and meet other health appointments. Not to mention if I swing my moods there may not be help available.

What do you guys / gals think? There is no law against it that I know of but I think my Pdoc is right.

A jury of my peers would have to be 12 bipolar people!

Practical considerations get in the way according to your pdoc. That sounds right. Potential mood swings and med problems would suck. That sounds right too.

OK nobody666 it all sounds right to me, except I would probably still prefer a jury of my peers and a chance to explain myself.

Thanks MoobbusT I would like a jury of peers too maybe I would get a mass shooting trial (god forbid) where they are claiming bi-polar disorder. It does pose some interesting scenarios though.

When I was summoned , I got a letter from my Pdoc outlining my disorder and his recommendation that I not serve .

I haven't been called on since.

Besides, I've got enough junk in my own head...I certainly don't want to add more stuff

Same thing happened with me that happened with dancingd.
I got a summons, my doc contacted the court, I was medically excused. I think it was a good thing I wasn't on a jury. My symptoms are quite unpredictable and they really could inform my decision when it comes to a verdict.

I get triggered by lots of things surrounding jury duty, and dissociated last time I went and was impaneled. So my pdoc said, "next time, you get a letter from me". Still waiting for my next summons.

I suppose doing jury duty could be interesting community service for some people, just not me or you.

And it looks like we are in good company here!

The Rozzers always hire those likely to find the accused guilty, unless the accused is a Politician or Banker. ;)

I tried jury duty once. Almost threw up due to the anxiety of being around strangers in a small room. after that the doctors wrote an excuse keeping me off for life.

your mental health is worth more than civic duty. there are plenty of other people that can serve

I've only been summoned once and like a lot of you have said..I got my pdoc to give them a letter.LOL Nobody...let God sort them out!!
