Jaw pain

Does anyone have problems with jaw pain when depressed? Mine has been starting to bother me a lot more the last couple days and I don't know what to do about it. 



Long overdue I called a different provider for my primary care to see if they are taking new patients and they said they are but I have to fill out some paperwork before they can set me up an appointment. I think I am going to try to go back on medication. 



I'm having a very hard time and feel very alone. Hopefully the new provider will still sign off on my medical leave paperwork.

A lot of people have problems with temporal mandibular joint pain.... It's from clenching your jaw or grinding teeth.... People often do it in their sleep

Some oral surgeons specialize in this type of pain... A mouth guard might help??.. Not sure.... You should talk with your dentist if it continues

Suncloud and I have the same response of teeth clenching. A solution I have now trained myself to do is to put my tongue on the roof of my mouth as I go to sleep....I don't know if it stays there or not, but my jaw and teeth don't hurt as much...for me this works as it separates my ability to close down on my teeth and grind. You can also find mouth guards in drug stores.

Jan and Miro are probably right about your jaw pain. You do need to know that jaw pain can indicate heart attacks. I don't want to worry you, just talk to your physician about it. It's probably the clinching of your teeth since you don't have any other symptoms.

Hi again....if you are going to your dr.....think about getting your thyroid, and vit d level checks along with a cbc....check for anemia....just to make sure something physical is not adding to your depression. You mentioned a while back you were taking a medical leave from work....do you think you are better or worse by not working. I do hope you have people in your life that you can lean on....when I get really down being alone in my head is not a good place. Hugs

It's gotten better the last couple days. I do think it's a teeth clenching issue.

I have the same problem. When I wear a retainer it helps with the pain, you should try it

    Happy start-of-the-week!!!! I have work in a couple hours. Rocket is being a stinker over here refusing to finish his breakfast which is most unusual. I will give him a few millk bones before I have to leave for work and some kibble in his bowl. What is something you are looking forward to? For me, I am look forward to seeing my therapist tomorrow and my prayer meeting is on tuesday
