and I know they love me too. But they don't
have to live with me. I have pretty well
decided not to ever marry because of my
illness. I think it would be too hard for both
of us.
I did think at one point I was going to leave my current husband, but I was in a mental ward and very unstable. I'm glad I didn't act on it, and that feeling only lasted a few weeks. I thought he was better off without me. I know now that's not true.

now i am with a very understanding man
puts up with my moods
and my weight gain (I am almost 200lbs)
because of the meds.
I have been on soooo many for soooo long.
I do think that it is worth the risk (a relationship)
He is my only friend that I held onto for the last 5 years.
As you know, we have a tendency to isolated and remove ourselves from the world. For me, this is not conducive to maintaining relationships.
But then I cant be sure. Maybe we were just bad match from the start
My current husband is quite different from my first husband and is supportive although when I am in an episode I want to divorce him. I think he is a secret agent when I am ill because of the psychoisis but he has stuck by me so far.
I am not afraid of being alone and because of my illness I might lose my husband but that is no-one's fault. This illness takes such a toll on human life. We are fortunate to have people around that do help and we have each other for support also. This illness can affect relationships because of the rose coloured glasses effect but there is help available.
